Atrial fibrillation is a condition in which the heart beats rapidly or
irregularly. This happens when the heart’s two upper chambers beat
intermittently or chaotically out of coordination with the two lower
chambers. The condition can increase an individual’s chance of stroke,
heart failure or other cardiovascular complications.
