I have a confession—I used to be a junk food junkie. And according to a recent study published in BMJ Open—many Americans still are. The study suggests that a whopping 60% of what most of us eat is considered ultra-processed.1
That is stuff like frozen pizza, candy bars, sugary drinks, TV dinners, and the like.
Another 10% comes from slightly less processed foods (think flavored yogurt or canned veggies).2
